Maxwells has been repeatedly recognized locally and nationally for its fine dining, warm hospitality, outstanding service, and custom beverage selections.

Maxwells has been the recipient of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence since 2012. The Award of Excellence is earned by establishments that offer a well-chosen selection of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style with over 100 labels offered.

The Max Bar offers the region's largest selection of wines, finest liquors, personalized bartender service, and intimate seating — featuring weekly happy hour specials and a gourmet bar menu.

Maxwells offers a variety of semi-private and private dining and reception spaces perfectly suited for special occasions or business gatherings.

Mike Wald

Chef Mike Wald leads Maxwells kitchen with a passion for seasonal ingredients and globally inspired technique. His menus reflect a deep commitment to quality — from the locally sourced produce to the hand-selected proteins that define Maxwells signature dining experience.

Every dish that leaves the kitchen reflects the philosophy that great food is about respect — for the ingredient, the guest, and the craft.

Ramon Sosa

Ramon Sosa had the rare opportunity to learn his trade in 5-star Caribbean resorts at a very young age. After his journey led him to Fargo, he immediately began making an impact at Maxwells.

First as General Manager and now as co-owner at Maxwells, Sosa has been committed to delivering superior food and personal service in a relaxed setting.

Sosa's formal wine training (Level 1 Court of Master Sommeliers), which he continues to pursue and impart to his staff, allows him to make recommendations that compliment both cuisine and purpose: “We tailor our guests' experiences to the occasion. One evening a customer might be joining a chef's dinner in the dining room. On another night, the same person could be celebrating a birthday with co-workers at the bar.”
